The Medical Record (TMR) 1979 was among the first computerized health records that, W.E. Hammond, the Director of DCHI, was one of the developers with Howard K. Thompson. This innovative work and use of computers in a health care setting was about 5 years ahead of everyone, per comments of former chairman, E. Harvey Estes during the 50th year celebration of the Duke Community and Family Medicine celebration on June 28, 2016.
