Hammond Leads Panel Discussion at NCHICA AMC Conference

DCHI Director W. Ed Hammond, PhD led a panel discussion, Long-Term Future of Health Privacy and Security: Why It Matters to You Now, at NCHICA’s 9th Academic Medical Center Conference, which was held May 6-8 in Chapel Hill. Joining him on the panel were Robert Califf, MD, DTMI Director and Vice Chancellor of Clinical Research, and Adam H. Greene, a partner with Washington-based law firm Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP.

The discussion focused on the likely path of evolution that security and privacy programs will take in the academic medical center setting as a result of the continued accelerated growth of health systems, health information usage by consumers/patients, big data, and other trends.
