Hammond Attends NIH Workshop on Big Data

W. Ed Hammond, PhD attended the NIH Workshop “Enabling Research Use of Clinical Data” held September 11-12, 2013 in Rockville, MD. The focus for the workshop, organized as part of the NIH Big Data to Knowledge, or BD2K initiative was “to identify actionable steps that NIH can take to accelerate progress in the use of clinical data in research.”  The BD2K initiative is expected to enable scientists to effectively manage and utilize large, complex data sets being generated whose value will most likely increase in the future.
