October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month
October marks the 10th anniversary of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), a collaboration between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) to promote awareness of the Internet as a shared resource and, therefore, a shared asset for which all are responsible to preserve and protect. The NCSA serves as a central resource for educating the public and for developing and distributing tools to individuals, businesses, schools, and communities that will assist in this effort.
Duke Medicine and Duke University Information Security Offices will host a number of events and activities, including weekly blogs, prize drawings, and dissemination of practical tips on how to keep information secure both at work and at home. Learn more about NCSAM at www.StaySafeOnline.org.
