Abstract:

The Healthview Patient Portal is a gateway for the patients of Duke Medicine to view their medical record. The portal provides access to clinical data such as test and procedure results as well as medication, vital signs and allergy lists. In addition, the portal provides functionality that allows a patient to schedule appointments and manage financial data. This presentation will survey current functionality as well as discuss some of the issues surrounding access to clinical data by patients and some of the lessons that have been learned as the portal continues to develop and mature.
