Abstract:

Clinical Intelligence is a rapidly growing and evolving field that uses data to improve healthcare outcomes. In this presentation, Mr. Chowdhry will share specific examples in which analytical and quantitative methods were used to accomplish objectives as diverse as predictive modeling for patient mortality, measuring differences in the quality of healthcare across regions, and assessing the effectiveness of process improvements in clinical workflows. He will also discuss the future of healthcare analytics and how healthcare providers are leveraging the fields of big data, predictive modeling, and expert systems to improve healthcare.

Biosketch:

Vikas has over 10 years of healthcare IT experience. He currently works as a lead software developer on the Analytics team at Epic, where he is focused on the area of utilizing data to measure and improve healthcare through a variety of tools, ranging from simple reports and dashboards that are easy to deploy to utilizing advanced statistical models, data mining techniques and predictive modeling.  Working with one of the leading EMR vendors in the country, he has lead product development teams to create enterprise software for Radiology Information Systems, Labor & Delivery, OB/GYN and healthcare analytics and business intelligence. He has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Jodhpur, India, a graduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Additionally, Vikas has a keen interest in the area of leveraging incentive programs to influence positive patient behavior.
