The National Library of Medicine (NLM), an institute of the NIH granted DCHI’s Meredith Nahm, PhD , Associate Director of Clinical Research Informatics, a Career Development Award (K99) for her research entitled Pioneering Health Information Quality. With the goal of an EHR for every American by 2014, the availability of health information for use in clinical decision making will dramatically increase. It is important to know how the quality of health information impacts its use, and where it does, how to detect and handle data discrepancies. One goal of this research project is to identify the factors that determine clinician use of health information charted by others. Dr. Nahm will also explore the impact of information quality on clinical decisions.
Congratulations, Dr. Nahm!
